Construction on the massive Concord beverage manufacturing campus from Red Bull, Rauch North America and Ball Corp. has been delayed. The nearly $1.5 billion project at The Grounds at Concord could soon ramp up again.
Page Castrodale, executive director for Cabarrus Economic Development Corp., said her team expects it to “kick back off later this year.”
Red Bull, Rauch and Ball were approved for updated incentives in late 2022 as they planned a $400 million increase in investment for the project. The beverage campus was initially announced in July 2021 with planned investments totaling more than $1.1 billion. The project remains the largest economic development announcement in Cabarrus County history.
It will occupy around 500 acres at The Grounds, the former Philip Morris manufacturing site.
